Detroit Tigers 2022 schedule: Opening Day on March 31 at Seattle Mariners

The Detroit Tigers unveiled their 2022 schedule Wednesday, beginning with Opening Day on March 31 against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park.

The Tigers play their first seven games on the road, competing in a four-game series with the Mariners (March 31-April 3) and three-game series with the Oakland Athletics (April 4-6). The home opener at Comerica Park is April 8 against the Chicago White Sox, beginning a six-game homestand with the White Sox (April 8-10) and Boston Red Sox (April 11-13).

For home interleague games, the Tigers face the Colorado Rockies (April 22-24), Pittsburgh Pirates (May 3-4), San Diego Padres (July 25-27) and San Francisco Giants (Aug. 23-24). The Tigers take on the National League West in interleague play for the first time since 2017.

The Tigers face the Los Angeles Dodgers (April 29-May 1), Pirates (June 7-8), Arizona Diamondbacks (June 24-26) and Giants (June 28-29) for road games against the NL.

Detroit is at Comerica Park for three holidays: Memorial Day on May 30 against the Minnesota Twins, Father’s Day on June 19 against the White Sox and Independence Day on July 4 against the Cleveland Guardians. (The Tigers play the Guardians for the first time on the road, from May 20-22.)

The Tigers and Twins are scheduled for a split doubleheader at Comerica Park on July 23 to start the second half of the season.

The 2022 All-Star Game is July 19 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
