Teammates Reunited: 94-Year-Old Surprises His Old Rookie Teammate

A surprise visit from his former teammate made this pregame ceremony even sweeter. Jake Wood was honored before a Tigers game to mark the 60th anniversary of him becoming the first African American player in franchise history to come up through the farm system and play for the major league club. But it was a special surprise visit from former teammate Charlie Maxwell that brought the biggest smile to Wood’s face.
