Tigers welcome two new members to radio team

Detroit Tigers

LAKELAND, Fla. — A couple new voices alongside Dan Dickerson on Tigers games in recent days are part of an expansion of the Tigers’ radio team. Daniella Bruce is joining the broadcasts as a reporter for games at Comerica Park, while former Major League player and executive Bobby Scales will work alongside Dickerson as an analyst on about 40 road games this season.

Bruce is filling a new role on Tigers radio broadcasts, but she should be no stranger to Detroit fans. She has hosted several content series on social media channels for the Tigers and Red Wings, as well as Gameday Live intermission shows at Red Wings games. Her radio role will include interviews with Tigers players and other figures, as well as in-game reports and updates.

Scales, who made his radio debut with Dickerson on Saturday’s game against the Blue Jays, was born in Southfield and played at the University of Michigan before being drafted by the Padres in 1999. He played a decade in the Minor Leagues before making his MLB debut with the Cubs in 2009. After 61 games with the Cubs and a couple years in Japan, Scales began a second career in front offices, including player development director for the Angels. He joined Sports Info Solutions last year.
