Offseason Chat Transcript: Detroit Tigers

MLB Trade Rumors

I think the rebuild went sideways because, as mentioned, it was far too pitcher heavy. But, equally impactful, was the complete lack of position player development. Thankfully, they didn’t screw Tork up (but they sure tried). And the organization deserves no credit for Carpenter. Thankfully, he went outside of the organization for his development. Other than “The Big 3”, there hasn’t been a good player come up through the system in forever. There’s always the sure things, but the telling sign is how they haven’t had any impact position players from beyond the 4th round….. I don’t know. I can’t think of any…. The only ones that had MLB success were dealt away and I have to assume that the receiving club deserves much of the credit.
