The Detroit Tigers came out of the All-Star Break firing on all cylinders, taking two of three from the Toronto Blue Jays north of the border to continue one of the hottest current streaks in Major League Baseball. AJ Hinch’s squad has now won 10 of their last 13 games heading into a rematch with the American League Central leaders.
The Cleveland Guardians host the Olde English D for a four-game set this week starting on Monday as the home team looks to avenge its 3-1 series loss to the Motor City Kitties in Detroit a series before the ASB. The Guards have stumbled since that four-game set, dropping two of three at the Tampa Bay Rays before doing the same back in Cleveland against the San Diego Padres.

Series Outlook: Must-win series for Detroit
Not to sound like a broken record, but if the Tigers want to continue their renewed stab at the postseason, fellow ALC teams like the Guardians must be beaten. The recent run of success began against Cleveland, and despite some of the questions on the mound, there is no reason why Detroit cannot continue to replicate its success. Not to mention, a series win would put the good guys back over the .500 mark.
